this is my first serious attempt at any sort of animation. not really any prior knowledge besides theoretical speculation, there are surely much better techniques/methods to accomplish what i stumbled through, but every tutorial/instructional vid i found was overproduced clickbait bullshit, so i just winged it.
the main thing that was confusing me was clipstudio's layer/cel/frame naming system. in retrospect it does make sense, but its not intuitive after using the typical illustration layer system for so long.2.29.2024

Webtoon & the prevalent "why cant i edit my episodes, why cant i reach my dashboard" problem. (SOLVED; sort of)
So i stopped using webtoon for fucking months because i was stuck at the home screen staring at my profile that i could not edit & my series that i COULD NOT EDIT.
Apparently this is because wether you login using facebook, google, email, etc.....Webtoon goes ahead & MAKES AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ACCOUNT FOR EVERY LOGIN SOURCE.
It doesnt matter that they are all associated with the same email & logically with the same person, DOESNT FUCKING MATTER.
It doesnt matter that they email you at an email that they wont recognize if you have been logging in with google & hit the "forgot password" button when trying to login with just email.
Webtoon will make that an entirely different account.
So i figured out that the login source i was using was Facebook, not google or email.
I was finally able to get back to my dashboard, BUT.........ONLY ON PC.
I logged into Webtoon from Facebook on my tablet AND phone, just like on my pc, but the dashboard icon just isnt there. I havnt figured that out yet...but i dont really intend to do any editing/uploading on mobile anyway. its just stupid that a fucking multimillion dollar company cant figure out the fucking basics of interface dynamics, all theyre concerned with is their fucking endless popups ads to a bunch of gay porn manga from Webtoon Originals that theyre forcing down everyones throat to spam its' view count.
Im not sure why im still using webtoon, or if ill use it much longer.
Mangadraft is pretty good, globalcomix is handy, & a new friend just turned me on to ComicFury; where you are given your own ad-free custom url with tons of customization if you are versed in html (im not, but the basics are still pretty intuitive).

High Resolution PNG 2D lineart shapes template
Because apparently its impossible to create a tablet drawing app capable of creating a perfect polygon with adjustable number of vertices, & because apparently theres cocksuckers on this planet who think they can get away with charging mfs a dollar for a fucking hexagon thats bigger than 5 pixels or not watermarked.
I made this huge 600dpi template that anyone can download, & you can "select" your shape, copy/paste, then adjust size or stroke for outline thickness, or fill, or change color, whatever.
for free. Here you go.

does deviantart.com suck or do i?
i have been on deviantart for years, with pretty much no visibility.
i just posted a new "deviation", which is their dumb name for a post. the next day i literally searched for the title of my post, & it was nowhere to be seen. in its place, thousands of unrelated results, with a bunch of duplicate incorrect results.
so then i tried to narrow the results; most recent: yes, it actually came up as the only "custom muk plush" image that was uploaded, but it still brought up a bunch of weird pokemon fan fiction porn literature...
then i expanded to "this week": still showed up but along came a bunch of totally unrelated results, not one of them was a Muk.
then i expanded to "this month": noticed i got bumped to the 2nd result after a completely incorrect result, that again was NOT a Muk.
expanded to "this year" (its only fucking february) & my post is gone. totally gone. replaced already by thousands of spam results, not one of which was a Muk.
then, the results that non-deviantart users can see, the "this century" results. again, thousands of incorrect results. didnt bother with a screenshot of that.
so what the fuck is the deal? is my work just so shitty i cant qualify to show up even when typing the exact wording of the title?
i can only imagine how fucking buried my real work gets when im posting comic pages.

custom Muk plush
The first step was roughing in the form with paper & tape. The 1st version i wont even share, it looked closer to a bulbasaur. I had to really contemplate what defined muks shape. Its more of a head with arms than a blobby body. In retrospect i could have made the hands larger. I also underestimated how much i would have to needle sculpt, & could have simplified several complex shapes.
Next, i had to disassemble into what i thought would be the defined parts.
I tried to place the seams along naturally occuring creases & folds, or where i imagined a layer of dripping slime would be rolling at an edge.
After carefully labeling with names & orientations & proposed dart/cut positions, the next step was to flatten the parts to make the refined paper model. I traced the flattened shapes onto the same thin paper.
I make some last refinements after assembling the 2nd model, then mark any ambiguous borders with match marks. Then its time to transfer onto the final cardstock design sheets.
Next, i cut out all the shapes. Again, i dont cut the seam allowance because its too difficult to maintain the original shapes during cloth transfer, i just eyeball the seams later. They never end up exactly where you want anyway. The most carefully drawn design will still only remain 75% accurate at best.
After transferring & cutting all the cloth parts, its time to start sewing. I hate using pedestrian methods & materials, so i chose to challenge myself again & used some stretchy material with the odd reflective pattern i thought was the closest to what i imagine the surface of a muk would be like.
